Combat hunger with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank

THE A PROJECT

Lend a hand
at the
Greater Vancouver
Food Bank

With a mission of “providing healthy food to those in need,” the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) assists approximately 9,000 individuals monthly across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and the North Shore. Through specialized food nutrition programs, they help to meet specific nutritional needs of children and seniors.

In addition, the GVFB offers food support to 112 Community Agency Partners throughout these communities, such as housing agencies, women and children’s shelters, and after-school programs. These partners, in turn, provide hot meals and snacks to thousands of people each week, including those struggling with homelessness. Last year, GVFB programs distributed a whopping total of 7.1 million pounds of food.

Join fellow UBC alumni helping to ensure these efforts continue by organizing and distributing food at the GVFB warehouse.

Please note, closed toed shoes are required.
