alumni UBC Wine Series: Taste of the Island

When you think of B.C. wines, what comes to mind? The Okanagan? If so, did you know that Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands are home to a dedicated community of family grapegrowers and winemakers who produce award-winning wines? Here’s your opportunity to sip along with a panel of experts through a wine tasting spotlighting three of the Islands’ top wineries: Blue Grouse Winery and Unsworth Vineyards from the Cowichan Valley region and Sea Star Winery from Pender Island. Along with wine educator DJ Kearney (BA’84) and fellow UBC alumni, attend this event to discover what’s so special about this region of the province and its climate for winemaking.
