Food banks across Canada are facing unprecedented surges in demand — and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) needs your support more than ever. You can make a difference in the lives of individuals, couples, and families who rely on this vital service. Meet up with fellow UBC alumni at the GVFB to lend a helping hand with everything from welcoming clients to organizing supplies. Let’s work together to combat hunger and bring hope to our community!

Two shifts available:
Shift 1 – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm FULL
Shift 2 – 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm FULL

Volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Distributing a specific allotment of food to each client
- Creating a safe and welcoming environment for clients
- Ensuring that the distribution site is clean and organized
- Assisting the team with restocking and cardboard breakdown
- Setting up and taking down the site materials (tables, signage, product, etc.)
You may join our waitlist by emailing alumni.volunteers@ubc.ca with your full name, UBC degree and year of graduation (e.g.: BA’08), and the shift you would like to sign up for.
