Speaker Biography
Sanjay Singhal, MASc’88
Sanjay Singhal (MASc’88) is a Canadian tech entrepreneur and author best known for founding and selling Audiobooks.com. He created the 500 Startups Canada fund in 2016 and remains an ongoing investor in over 20 startups. In 2018, he opened his first cocktail lounge, Coffee Oysters Champagne, followed by the opening of the South American–inspired restaurant Marked. In 2019, he launched the Nikean Foundation to fund mental health research, with a focus on novel psychedelic therapies to treat mental disorders. The Nikean Foundation funds research trials around the world while developing knowledge and infrastructure in Canada. His 2018 memoir Zero to Tesla chronicles his whole messy journey.
