alumNIGHTS at IPOP—Pickleball night

Get into the game this year with Canada’s fastest-growing sport! We’re heading to the Inclusive Place of Pickleball (IPOP) in Burnaby for an evening of fitness and fun. Learn how to play at a beginner workshop, or hit the courts with intermediate and expert players. Enjoy beverages and bites while socializing and pickleballing with fellow alumni at this mixer serving up camaraderie and friendly competition!

6:00pm–10:00pm

6:00PM: Registration; check-in, sign UBC waiver forms, sign up for coaching workshop or open play depending on pickleball level
6:15PM – 7:00PM: Coaching workshop for beginner/intermediate players to learn and/or brush up on their pickleball skills
6:30PM – 10:00PM: All court open play using the Gold/Silver pickleball rotation system
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Non-alcoholic drinks and light bites provided by alumni UBC for grazing throughout the event

The primary registrant must be a UBC alum. Each team can include two to four players (and may include alumni and non-alumni.

Cost: $50 per person, includes facility access (courts, lounges, AR practice zone), optional coaching, paddle rental, and one non-alcoholic beverage with charcuterie.

The registration deadline is Monday, January 26. As space is limited, register early to secure your spot!

Safety first! Before hitting the courts, you’ll need to complete and sign a quick waiver form from both UBC and IPOP. Waivers can be completed digitally ahead of time or in person at IPOP for your convenience.

AR Practice Zone: All event registrants will have access to IPOP’s Augmented Reality pickleball experience during the event. This fun interactive system is called MultiBall — the first of its kind in Canada!

Optional: If preferred, please indicate your DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) number in the registration form.
