Summertime in Vancouver means it’s time for theatregoers to head outside for Bard on the Beach! Gather with fellow alumni and friends at Vanier Park on August 26 for one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies: Much Ado about Nothing. Enjoy our special reception, featuring artistic director Christopher Gaze, LittD’08, before the show to celebrate our esteemed UBC alumni lighting up the Bard stage this season — including Much Ado director and UBC Theatre alum Johnna Wright, BA’87. Enjoy great seats to take in one of this city’s most quintessential summer experiences: open-air theatre set against mountains, sea, and sky!

Bard Village is located in Sen̓áḵw on the ancestral lands of the Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam), and səlilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.
Tickets: $65 (all fees included), includes the pre-show reception in the Marquee Tent (presented by alumni UBC in partnership with the UBC Faculty of Arts and the UBC Department of Theatre and Film), where guests will receive one complimentary ticket (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and enjoy light fare.
Tickets must be purchased by a UBC alum. A maximum of four tickets can be purchased per transaction. All sales are final — exchanges or refunds are not possible.
The deadline to purchase tickets is August 4, 2025, or until sold out.
UBC alumni seating will be reserved in the B Zone. If you have seating or accessibility requests, please contact us as soon as possible.
The alumni UBC team will contact you before the performance date with instructions on how to claim your tickets.
