Speaker Biographies
Agnes Ouko, BSc’19
Agnes “Aggie” Ouko (BSc’19) is a multifaceted tech professional passionate about leveraging innovation in business. Her experience spans technical program management, localization, operations, and venture analysis. Currently, she serves as a TPM and Strategic Advisor at Sussed Corp., a digital fashion incubator empowering aspiring fashion entrepreneurs with AI. Her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from UBC, along with her Master of Science in Data Science, Technology, and Innovation from the University of Edinburgh, solidify her expertise. For her Master’s thesis, she is partly exploring AI–powered feedback systems in distance learning.
Curtis Tse, BMgmt’14
Curtis Tse (BMgmt’14) is the product security manager at KOHO, bringing over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity to help build features to secure user accounts. Prior to joining KOHO, Curtis spent seven years at IBM advising enterprises and CISOs on their cybersecurity posture, building security operation centres, and leading large cybersecurity transformations. During his time at IBM, he consulted with airlines, financial institutions, retail, and governments at all levels. He is now investing time in building security data lakes to better leverage AI and ML capabilities on cybersecurity-use cases. He holds a Bachelor of Management degree with a specialization in accounting from UBC.
Viet Vu, BA’16
Viet Vu (BA’16) leads policy and research at the Dais. At the Brookfield Institute, he conducted extensive work on how technology impacted the Canadian labour market, the tech sector and workers, digital skills, and scale-ups. His research has been cited widely in national media, and has influenced government policies at all levels. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Economics from UBC and a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. A queer immigrant to Canada, he sits on the Canadian Economics Association’s Diversity committee, and co-chairs the Affinity groups working group.
