Speaker Biography
Dr. Kari Marken, PhD’19
Dr. Kari Marken brings a love of teaching, learning, and creative process to her work as a lecturer at the UBC Sauder School of Business. She holds a PhD in Education (Curriculum and Pedagogy) and a Design Professionals of Canada certification as a systems designer. She teaches courses about creativity, communication, and story to Sauder’s graduate and undergraduate students. She also teaches critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving courses in the UBC Sauder Executive Education division. In 2020, she founded Edie Design consulting agency to serve industry clients with the strategic design and delivery of learning and development programs.
