From lively barbecues to walking tours, check out what’s being offered at this year’s Homecoming! These events are open to alumni of the hosting faculty or department. Be sure to read each description carefully for details, as many require separate and advance registration.

Outdoor Ecology Tour: Saturday, September 20, 2025; 1:00pm–3:00pm
Learn all about about Stanley Park’s wetland ecology! Take a free tour, based at Beaver Lake, with UBC Land and Food Systems alum Julia Taylor, who is the Public Environmental Education Coordinator for the Stanley Park Ecology Society. Discover fascinating details about beavers, frogs, and birds; uncover intriguing historical and conservation facts; and enjoy complimentary snacks, a swag bag, and a water station (for refillable water bottles)!

Meeting location and accessibility:
- We will meet at the Stanley Park Pavilion, which has paid parking available next to the building and at a parking lot about two minutes away. The meeting location is about two minutes from the bus loop, which can be reached by taking the No. 19 bus.
- Two gendered washrooms with stalls are available on the ground floor of the building and have stairs for access. One universal single-stall is available and doesn’t involve stairs for access. A water fountain is located outside.
- The meeting location, as well as Pipeline Road to Beaver Lake, are accessed on concrete, with a sloping road to Beaver Lake. The trail around Beaver Lake is mostly level packed gravel/dirt, except for a concrete culvert partway around the lake that has a 2-3 cm edge to cross. It is approximately 15 minutes from the meeting location to Beaver Lake.
- Some benches are available along the route at Beaver Lake.

All UBC Sauder students, alumni, faculty, and staff (plus up to two guests each) are invited to enjoy a barbecue-style burger* at the festival. Alumni are also invited to continue the fun and join us for an iconic UBC Sauder tradition, Alumni POITS, from 2:00- 5:00pm, reimagined for Homecoming.
*The barbecue is a special feature for UBC Sauder community members and their guests.
